Welcome to Bisbee Rockhounding Tour
Discover the rich mineral history of Bisbee, Arizona on a hands-on rockhounding adventure! Led by a local enthusiast with a deep love for the land, this tour takes you off the beaten path to explore old railroad beds, 1890s mine tailings, and a historic gold mine area tucked in the hills.
All tours start outside the copper queen library located at 6 main st in Bisbee. The guide will then drive to 3 separate stops and guests can ride with him (up to five people) or follow in their own vehicle. All stops are within 4 miles of the starting point.
On the day tour, We’ll search for vibrant copper-based minerals like azurite, malachite, and chrysocolla, along with beautiful silica-rich stones such as quartz, agate, and jasper. Whether you’re new to rockhounding or a seasoned collector, you’ll enjoy stories of the miners who once worked this land—and leave with some treasures of your own. A bag is provided.
On the night tour we use provided UV lights to find fluorescent minerals such as calcite, fluorite, sphalerite, and more! A bag is provided so you can take home some great specimens!
Wear sturdy shoes, bring your curiosity, and get ready to experience the geology and history of Bisbee in a whole new way!
